Effective Date: 2026-04-03

Developer: Ken Barber, trading as Bob.sh, Sydney, NSW, Australia

Overview

Blight is a cooperative multiplayer action RPG. This privacy policy explains what information the game collects, how it is used, and your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

The short version: Blight collects very little. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking.

Information We Collect

Multiplayer Networking

When you connect to a multiplayer game, the game server receives your IP address and in-game chat messages. This information is used only to facilitate the multiplayer session and is not stored after the session ends.

Chat Messages

Messages you type in the in-game chat are transmitted to other players in the same session. A profanity filter runs locally on each client. Chat messages are not logged or stored on the server.

Information We Do Not Collect

Blight does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Third-Party Services

Google Play Store

If you download Blight from the Google Play Store, Google may collect information in accordance with their own privacy policy. This is outside our control. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

Multiplayer Server

The game connects to a multiplayer facilitator server hosted on AWS in the Sydney region (ap-southeast-2). Connection data (IP addresses) is processed in memory during active sessions and is not written to disk or retained.

Data Storage and Retention

Blight does not maintain any user database. Game settings and preferences are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted.

Children’s Privacy

Blight does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since the game collects no personal data, there is no age-gated data collection. Parents and guardians should be aware that the game includes multiplayer chat, which is filtered for profanity but allows communication between players.

Your Rights Under the Australian Privacy Principles

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

In practice, since Blight does not collect or store personal information, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete.

International Users

The multiplayer server is located in Sydney, Australia. If you connect from outside Australia, your IP address will be transmitted to this server for the duration of your session. No data is retained after the session ends.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the revised policy at this URL. Continued use of the game after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
